Beth's passion for storytelling through imagery was deeply rooted in her love for history, her community while seeing beauty in every circumstances. In the late 1980s, she established her own at-home photography business, Spirit in the Dark Productions which she aimed to capture the essence of everyday life with her witty and insightful approaches to strangers and those who appreciated her viewpoint. Her work reflected not only her artistic vision but also her deep connection to Baltimore's political and cultural landscape. Beth took pride in contributing to the city's dynamic climate.

Now, her daughter Jazmin has re-established her mother’s business and renamed it Spirit in the Light Media Inc. Our goal is to reintroduce the world to the lens of Cary Beth Cryor and her impeccable professional journey within her brief journey of forty-nine years. We plan to become a thriving double minority photography business rooted in the beliefs Beth was passionate while continuing to break barriers artistically with grace and excellence. With a renewed spirit, we will continue to honor Beth's original vision yet embracing the contemporary advancements of the digital photography age we are in today. By embracing this new business model along with our dedication to stand out, just stay tuned for what’s next!
